Televised City Meetings

Since BITV began live council coverage in June 2005, we televised all 161 requested meetings, some with less than one day’s notice. Televised council meetings are just a sampling of government in action. BITV would like to see all public meetings televised and citizens be given every opportunity to be informed. We value you, our loyal viewers, and we thank you for watching BITV.

Streaming FAQ

This is fabulous news for the entire community.

BITV is streaming all channel 12 and channel 22 programs via the internet.

BITV received a capital grant from the Bainbridge Community Foundation. The grant plus an anonymous contribution from the Foundation, and a generous contribution from Barry and Channie Peters, allowed BITV to purchase video servers for channel 12. Channel 22 streaming servers were made possible by City Council contingency funds. All BITV programs are available to anyone with a computer - globally.

This is all part of BITV’s goal to improve communication throughout the community by making community information available to all homes, all businesses and all organizations on Bainbridge Island. This service:

  • provides our City with nearly 100% island wide distribution of television programming including meetings, workshops and special events
  • provides our community a better unified emergency messaging system that can reach the largest number of islanders
  • allows community members the opportunity to express their opinions and share their uncensored stories with the entire community
  • gives non profits a more powerful marketing tool
  • provides businesses recognition for their community support
  • and gives the community access to all our great content

All of us at BITV thank the Bainbridge Community Foundation ,and Barry and Channie Peters, and the City of Bainbridge Island for their recognition of the added services we can provide the community with a little financial assistance.

Enjoy the streaming.
