We also strongly believe in helping you connect with other community media oganizations and individuals to strengthen your existance in this media savvy world.

ACM Conference Scholarships Available - Deadline 5/2/08
Each region of the Alliance For Community Media will be awarding 2 scholarships for the national conference this year. The scholarships will cover full conference registration with meals.

Please actively encourage your best and brightest to apply!

The ACM Grassroots Scholarship is open to individuals, access centers with small budgets, volunteers, independent producers and interns. Currently, recipients need not be individual members of the Alliance. The Scholarship does not include travel and lodging, however some regions may award additional funds to accompany the scholarship. For more information download the application.

ACM Board Meeting in Austin, TX
The Alliance Board of Directors met in Austin, Texas at the end of February during one of three face to face meetings scheduled for this year. The board was hosted by ChannelAustin, the public access community television station in Austin. A huge thank you to the board and staff of PACT for welcoming the ACM Board into your facility and hosting us with such excellence.

National Awards, Nominations Open! Deadline 4/25/08
Nominations are now being sought for three ACM 2008 Leadership Awards.

George Stoney Humanistic Communication Award
The George Stoney Award is given annually to an organization or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to championing the growth and experience of humanistic community communications.

Buske Leadership Award
The Buske Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of the Alliance for Community Media, leadership within the organization within the last three years, a high degree of involvement in the organization nationally, regionally and at the chapter level, and continuing service to the ACM.

Jewell Ryan-White Cultural Diversity Award
The Jewell Ryan-White Award for Cultural Diversity is given annually to those persons who show an outstanding contribution to a process that encourages, facilitates, or creates culturally diverse and/or non-mainstream community involvement in the field of community media.

Back by popular demand! In order to provide the opportunity for those who otherwise may not be able to attend the ACM 2008 International Concerence and Edhibition due to budget concerns with respect to housing, we are pleased to offer on a first come first serve basis low cost housing at Catholic University. Space is limited.
