Television Bulletin Board
BITV provides free announcements to community 501 (c) 3 non profits on a television Bulletin Board in between programs. A 501 (c) 3 determination letter must be on file at BITV prior to cablecasting any announcements. The types of announcements posted are community events as well as City meetings and traffic alerts. No more than three announcement from an organization may run at a time.

Bulletin Board Guidelines.

Choose from one of the following:

Standard Announcement

  • Must have Title & Body.
  • Title; 1 line no more than 20 characters (including spaces).
  • Body; 5 lines up to 125 characters (including spaces).

Example: Standard Bulletin

Announcement with picture

  • Must have Title, Body, and Picture.
  • Title; 1 line no more than 20 characters (including spaces).
  • Body; 4 lines up to 80 characters (including spaces).
  • Picture; Must be in J-Peg format 640/480 in size

  • No pricing allowed or call to action.
  • Announcements will be aired no more than 1 week prior to the event.

On-Going Programs – Series

Democracy Now Sponsored by Sabine Price, DCH, RC, Finding What Works
Counseling and Coaching; and by Bainbridge Island Vineyards and Winery; and by TJ and Charles Faddis

Possibly our most watched program…hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez featuring independent news. It provides viewers with access to people and, perspectives rarely heard in the U.S. corporate -- sponsored news media.

Includes independent and international journalists, ordinary people from around the world who are directly affected by U.S. foreign policy, grassroots leaders and peace activists, artists, academics and independent analysts.

Indy Media
Weekly public affairs program, including local and international news, poetry, protests, and information not seen on regular news channels.

NASA Series

NASA Connect: Series of integrated math, science, and technology programs for students in grades 6–8. Each program has three components: (1) a 30-minute television broadcast that can be viewed live or taped for later use (2) an educator guide describing a hands-on activity (3) an interactive web activity that provides educators an opportunity to use technology in the classroom setting.

NASA Destination Tomorrow: Focuses on NASA research --past, present, and future. Produced in a magazine-style format consisting of five segments, the overall goal of the series is to increase scientific literacy. Each program is designed to create and heighten the interest of students (9-12) and educators in science, mathematics, and technology and provide a mechanism for parents to become more involved in their children's education.

NASA SciFiles: Series Standards-based elementary science series from NASA which integrates and enhances the teaching of math, science, and technology. Students follow along—and think along—with a group of "treehouse detectives" who use their problem-solving skills and scientific methods of inquiry to find answers to real-life mysteries.

Our View
WA Federation of State Employees monthly program about issues and how they affect state employees.

Perils For Pedestrians
A monthly program promoting awareness of issues affecting the safety of people who walk. Produced by John Z. Wetmore.

Road to Recovery
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration provides programs on addiction, mental health and recovery.

Project Impact
Monthly program focusing on emergencies and disasters, and what governments, businesses, schools and individuals can do to prevent damages or become better prepared to deal with them.

Salmon Exchange
Presented by Seattle Schools; all about salmon including stewardship, green building, protecting habitat, recycling and more.

White House Chronicle
Program presenting US and international news and politics, hosted by Llwellyn King and Linda Gasparello.

Wild About Washington
Monthly program. Features fish and wildlife research projects, habitat restoration efforts, fishing tips and a roundup of seasonal outdoor recreation opportunities.

Words That Cook! Media Literacy Series
Program designed for parents & educators of children 0-12. Each episode features professionals, experts, parents and children modeling and discussing enjoyable straightforward practices for enriching literacy experiences.

How to Create a Program
  • STEP 1 - Sign up for Orientation class
    Orientation is a free workshop to inform community members about BITV, its history, community involvement, policies and procedures. It is held the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM. Sign up by calling 780-2980 or email info@bitv.org to reserve your place.

    Attending the Orientation workshop is a requirement prior to sponsoring programs, taking any other workshop offered by BITV and reserving equipment. Register for Orientation>>

  • STEP 2 - Become a BITV Member
    BITV membership is open to residents, non-profit organizations, educational institutions and businesses.

  • STEP 3 - Continue with production classes
    BITV members that wish to reserve equipment or the studio are required to take a class that will teach basic camera, production or non-linear editing techniques.

  • Step 4 - Volunteer
    Volunteering is fun way to learn. You can volunteer on a BITV production or another member’s program.

Sponsor a program:
You can also sponsor a program to air on BITV without taking production classes. Membership required.

Associate your name with quality community programming by sponsoring or underwriting a program. As a sponsor or underwriter you can provide quality programming for the community and receive recognition on television for your contribution. Your charitable contribution allow us to create programs and continue to broadcast quality community programs about local events, youth sports, theater, literary and music performances, documentaries about our history and people, and relevant issues affecting our community.
